The girls have been saying all sorts of adorable things during the past few months, and I have been scribbling them down. Here goes:
--Betsy and Sadie say that they have the best sister in the whole world
--Around Christmas the girls were searching for money all over the house. I asked Betsy what they needed money for and she said, "To buy toys." I thought--of course. Then Sadie continued, "Toys for children who don't have toys." I cried.
--Sadie had a Milky Way candy bar at Halloween and she constantly talks about them, but calls them "milky waves."
--At the end of the day Sadie says she wants to start the day all over.
--Sadie asked Santa Claus to "be a baby again." At Christmas time she told us often that she wanted to be a baby again.
--Sadie also said she wanted Santa to bring a present for the whole family.
--Betsy has some corny catchphrases. She is her mother's child. Examples:
'never say never,' 'that'll do it,' 'don't mind if i do!,' and 'it really comes in handy.'
--Sadie whispers when she plays with her babies. She is still such a little mommy. She is also becoming a big girl and is very concerned with what she is wearing. She wants to wear pink and wear skirts. She hates jeans, because they are 'too tight!!!!' She wants her nails painted all the time.
--Betsy--"I'm starting to not be like a little girl anymore." Too true.
--Betsy always asks, "How old do I look?"
--Betsy loves quoting movies--especially the 'Alvin & the Chipmunks' movies. [Cringe]. She also loves recounting scenes from movies.
--Sadie talks about her "fends' (friends). She told me last week that she, Lawson, and Francesca all play together because they are all blonde.
--Sadie tells me she loves me 'more dan dat.'
--Betsy saw a commercial about kids with cancer and she asked why they had no hair and I told her they were sick. She burst into tears and said, "It's not fair that those children are sick." So I burst into tears too.
--Betsy told me, "You always like to be pretty and wear jewelry and earrings."
--The best ever was during football season. Betsy said, "It's not fair that Sadie's name is in the Saints song." I said, "What?" Then Betsy and Sadie both began to sing, "Who dat?! Who dat?! Who dat SADIE gonna beat dem Saints??" Betsy said, "Why can't they say 'Who dat Betsy gonna beat dem Saints?" Peter and I cracked up.
What the kids are doing:
--The girls have started taking yoga classes and they love it.
--Betsy is obsessed with eating at Sukho Thai. Well, so am I.
--Sadie loves her baby dolls and is also fond of Ellie, my stuffed elephant from when I was a baby. That is so special to me.
--Betsy is into playing store and playing Barbies.
--The girls loooove 'Max & Ruby' and 'The Berenstain Bears.'
--Mardi Gras was awesome. At the first parade Betsy cried when she didn't catch something from a float, but she soon became a trooper. They collected way too much loot. Betsy and Sadie both loved dancing to the bands. Sadie was up in the ladder during every parade. B was terrified to go up, but once she finally did for Bacchus she was hooked.
--The girls love movie night, which entails a movie downstairs on the big tv, popcorn, and staying up late and crashing on the sofa.
