B and Her Presents

Betsy's Party

First Day of Ballet

Saints Girls

Happy Birthday, Betsy!

Baby Betsy is 3 years old, so I guess she isn't a baby anymore. She is such a sweet, smart little girl. Lately she'll look up at me and break into a big smile and say, "I just love you, Mommy" then she'll squeeze her eyes shut. She talks like a little adult--it's amazing. I love you, B.

Roundup

The Bourgeois crew has been dealing with a nasty stomach bug over the past week. Little Sadie got sick on Wednesday then B and Peter got it Friday then I got it today. Unfortunately, Betsy missed her City Park Carousel birthday party. I have been planning it for months and she and I have been talking about it daily. It was too late to cancel when she got sick on Friday so we had the party anyway. It was a great party, but everyone missed the birthday girl. Marme took care of B and Peter while Sadie and I went to the party. Thank you, Marme, and thank you to the rest of the family who helped us so much yesterday! I really couldn't have done it without y'all! I got choked up when we sang 'Happy Birthday' at the party, but I wanted to get it on video to show Betsy. We told her that we had the party, but that she couldn't go because she was sick. I don't think she understands. Peter asked if she wanted a cookie, and she said "no, those are for my party!" She keeps asking why the top of her cake is here--it was so beautiful--thank you, Momma Lady and Grandpa. And she kept asking how her presents got here. She received lots of wonderful gifts, and they cheered her up a lot! We are going to take her to the Carousel next weekend and we're going to save her birthday gifts until then.

B started ballet last weekend. She loved it, and looked so cute. She was so chatty and told everyone what she had for breakfast. B had Saints Day at school last week and dressed up in a Saints cheerleading uniform and made up a cheer--Give me an S, give me a T, what does that spell? Go, LSU!!!

Seeing Sadie sick has been heartbreaking. She has been so sad. Before she got sick she started singing, "Baby, baby, baby, baby" all of the time and dances and sways her head and sometimes sings "mommy, mommy, mommy, mommy."

Pics later.

How Things Are Going...

Things are going slowly. Figuring out how I'm getting from here to there and how the girls are getting to and from school is stressful. Marme has been sick. Sweet Lawson has the dreaded flu. It's been an all around bummer week. My birthday was about 2 weeks ago and we had a pizza party at Bee's house; it was lovely--thank you, Bee. P and I met Hal for drinks then had dinner at Bayona for my bday--yum and fun. We also attended Reed's 4th birthday party. Yesterday P went dove hunting with Gumbo and sweet Calli helped me with the girls. P and I stayed up late watching the LSU game. This morning we had brunch with the family--thank you, Bobby! Katie came over and helped me get organized for the week.

I can't wait to walk to PJ's one day soon!

First Day of School

Here are a few pics of B on her first day at Sacred Heart. She absolutely loves it and is making lots of friends.

Thank you

Thank you for all of the help from everyone over the past week and a half. I fell and broke my foot and got cut up and bruised so things have been very challenging. I am on crutches and have a giant shoe boot. Peter has become Mr. Mom and it's been hard not being able to pick up the girls or cook or do pretty much anything. I'm getting good at using one crutch. I'll get this thing off in another 4 weeks or so. I hope it's sooner than later...
