Pics from Tuesday Night

Happy (Early) Birthday, Gumbo!

We spent Tuesday and Wednesday night celebrating Gumbo's birthday, which is Saturday. Last night was a dual celebration for Gumbo and Bee. Happy Birthday, y'all!

On Tuesday night we went to Jama and Pa's house for dinner. Sadie ate paneed chicken, bouillon rice, lima beans, creamed spinach, and bread. She pigged out, and ate more than her sister did. On Wednesday Attie and I walked to B's school parade. B was a very excited spectator and the babies liked watching the wagon floats go by. On Wednesday night Gumbo, Bee, the Carvilles, Katie, and Peter A came over to watch Druids (it passed just a block away, which was awesome) and eat pizza and cake. Everyone had a blast even though we all got fussed at by the police for having beer bottles--oops!

Yesterday the Carville gals came over to play. The three girls took a bath together. At first Lawson liked it, but I don't think she was ready for the splashing and craziness that the Bourgeois girls bring to the bathtub. We all walked with Katie and Lola to check out the pre-parade festivities on Magazine. Then we headed to Muses, which was awesome. The girls had so much fun. S slept through a lot and by the end B and Lawson were asleep in the ladder. They were all such troopers!

Tidbits:
-Whenever S sneezes she smiles so big.
-Lately B has been saying, "Mommy, I have a good idea..."
-S is eating everything in sight--the only thing she doesn't like so far is refried beans.
-S can pick up food with her hands and reach her mouth, but then she drops it. She has made it a couple of times, but she's still perfecting her technique.
-The other day I saw Sadie playing with one of Lawson's toys and I asked her if it was hers and Betsy piped up and said, "No, it's Sadie's toy actually." She uses actually a lot and is very quick to correct folks.

Carnival Time

B had a ball at her Valentine's Day party at school or "partay" as she called it. The girls loved their Valentine's Day prizes too. B has been dumping out her bag of Valentines and looking at them for the past few days.

We had a great weekend of parade watching. We went to parades on Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday. Both of the girls loved the parades. B likes "da bands, da floats, da music, da beads, da stuffed animals." She danced and said, "frow me sumpin, mistah!" The weather looked a little iffy, but it ended up being fine. We got to hang with the Carvilles, Chris and Lucy (Jules was under the weather--glad you are doing better!), and Ticia and family. Every time a float would pass B would say, "More parade!" Sadie smiled and clapped and loved playing with her beads. The living room floor is covered in beads right now; I have picked them up 3 times already today.

Yesterday we walked in the Park with Attie and Lawson--we missed our Attie and Lawsy last week!

Last night B ate ribs with Peter. She is truly her father's daughter.

B is obsessed with peanut butter. She wants it on everything--pretzels, waffles, and even turkey sandwiches. B's ruminations on peanut butter:

-it's very chewy
-it's so delicious
-oooh, it's spicy

B hasn't napped for the past 2 days; I hope she hasn't already given up her usual 3-4 hour afternoon nap!
