Happy Halloween!

The girls and I have done lots of Halloween things this week--rode the Halloween train at Lakeside, ate pumpkin and ghost toast (and B drank hot chocolate for the first time), and went to a Halloween book reading at Octavia Books. P and I had Parents' Night last night at B's school and it was great. The classroom is precious and it was nice to meet B's friends' parents. Today was B's Halloween party at school and she had a blast trick or treating with her friends! I hope everyone has a great Halloween!!!

More pics of Sadie to come--she stayed with Sam and Lawson during the party and was napping (and still is) during Betsy's post-party photo shoot.

Roundup

We had a busy week, but it was full of fun stuff. On Monday Attie and I walked in the Park then took the babies to Music at the Parenting Center; Sadie and Lawson both loved it. We went to Marme's for dinner on Monday night. We're trying to get together with Marme, the sisters, and Lawson on Monday nights. It's so much fun to visit and eat together. On Tuesday we met Krista and the kids at the Zoo. The weather has been so nice, and it was a perfect Zoo day. B went to Jama and Pa's on Tuesday night for dinner. On Wednesday Attie and I walked again and Tara came with us. On Thursday Attie and I took the girls to J.C. Penney's to have their pictures taken. They came out REALLY cute! We walked around the mall a bit and B rode the Halloween train. After all of our adventures B slept late and we missed playgroup for the second week in a row. We're going to make it this week for sure. On Friday morning Sam watched the babies and Attie and I went to Target. Friday night was Boo at the Zoo. Betsy was a precious ballerina and Sadie and Lawson were adorable strawberries. Attie and Katie made the babies' costumes; they are so good! Betsy was mesmerized by all of the costumes and decorations and was so excited about trick or treating. The weekend weather was amazing. On Saturday we went to the Arts Market and walked around and P had a pulled pork sandwich and I ate a Nutella crepe--yum! I met Katie A. for lunch; Baby Jonah is due in a couple of weeks. I'm so excited! Katie looks great and is ready to meet her baby boy. This morning we met the Carvilles at PJ's. We ran into the Vaicius clan and B was thrilled to see Lucy. P and I spent the rest of the day doing house stuff and playing with Sadie while B was at a pumpkin carving party with Katie and Peter.

I'm trying to cook more. This week I made black beans and rice, vegetable soup, and roasted veggies. Don't feel bad for Peter; he cooked some meat on the side when he got home. This week I'm attempting to make smothered pork chops (yikes) and baked ziti. I'm trying to break out of our dinner rut.

Last week Sadie rolled from her back to her tummy then back to her back.

B says, "I'll be right back" anytime she leaves the room.

We have a exciting week ahead full of Halloween festivities. Happy Halloween!

Weekend (and Week) Roundup

For the first time in a while we are all well. Last week we walked in the Park and hung out with Attie and Lawson a lot. On Tuesday we went to Daneel Park with Andrea, William, and Julia. B and William collected acorns and went down the slide a bunch. B went to Jama's on Tuesday night and ate fried fish and talked about it for the rest of the week. On Wednesday we had another MommyMixer event at ah-ha and it went really well. On Thursday night we went to eat Chinese food with Gumbo, Attie, Lawsy, and Katie. The girls all very good. On Friday morning Sam watched the babies while Attie and I ran errands. Friday night we went to Theo's for pizza and Sucre for gelato with the Carvilles. It was so much fun. Theo's was wild--tons of kids. B was in her glory and smiled at all of the kids and watched them play Ms. Pac-Man. One of the kids picked B up and helped her play it. The weather this weekend was amazing. On Saturday morning we walked to Julie's then we went to the Park. Lucy showed B the ropes. After the Park we went to Lucky You, the candy shop, and let the girls pick out a candy. P, B, S, and I then went to lunch at St. James. We sat outside and ran into friends and ate yummy sandwiches. Sometimes I get fed up with uptown, but then we have days like Saturday and I fall in love with it again. When we got home B crashed for 4 hours--she was up most of the night on Friday so she was exhausted. Last night I hung out with the girls and P went to watch the LSU game at the Carvilles' house. Today I was on my own. Attie and I walked the Race for the Cure in the morning. We were a part of Team Cake--a team supporting our pal, Tara. In the afternoon I ran some errands then got a manicure and pedicure. P took the girls to Vacherie for the Oak Alley Fall Festival. They had so much fun with Momma Lady, Grandpa, and Aunt Maggie. When they got home Gumbo took B to the Zoo to ride the up and down and the train. I missed being away from my family all day. The girls are both asleep and I'm not far behind them. It was an awesome weekend.

The other day B and I were talking about Christmas and I told her that Santa Claus comes at Christmas and she said that Bobby comes at Christmas and that he stays at Jama's. Then she asked me if Bobby works with Santa Claus.

Sadie is almost sitting up and is smiling so much these days and talking so loudly!

Weekend Roundup

I swear I'm going to try to be a better blogger...

On Monday Attie and I went walking in the Park then Attie and Lawson came over in the afternoon to prepare for our MommyMixer event on Tuesday. We went to Marme's on Monday afternoon and hung out then ate dinner. On Tuesday we met Andrea, Krista, and their kiddos at the Zoo. On Wednesday Sadie and I walked in the Park. On Thursday we went to Evelyn's to play. At one point Evelyn and I were chatting in the living room and we heard giggles coming from Evelyn's room. We went in and found the girls jumping on her bed. They were cracking up--Evelyn took pics--it was too cute. On Friday morning we went to the Park again then to PJ's with Attie and Lawson then to do errands before picking B up. Friday was Pajama Day at school! On Friday night Marme watched the girls while P and I went to a GJTBS function at Muriel's. Unfortunately I started to feel bad so we had to go home early. We had to cancel our plans for Saturday and Sunday because I was sick. We were supposed to go to the Saints game with Andrea and Mark and we were so bummed that we couldn't go! We hung out around the house all weekend and watched the LSU game (yuck) and the Saints game (yay!). P took B to Daneel Park on Sunday morning and Gumbo took her to the Zoo in the afternoon. Sadie had rice cereal for the first time on Sunday. She loved it and opened her mouth for more after each bite. It was a huge mess and Sadie had so much fun. B got a kick out of watching Sadie eat. She kept saying, "Sadie eat food."

I'm feeling a little better today, but Sadie and I skipped walking in the Park so I could get some rest. B had fun at 'cool (as she calls it). Both girls are napping. I'm going to try to post some pics.

Tidbits:

--B still absolutely loves school and says, "Yay, school!" when we're in the carpool line.
--B told another joke. She said, "Mommy, Sadie is a witch--no, a pumpkin! Sadie loves Halloween!" Not sure where she comes up with this stuff.
--B loves looking at all of the Halloween decorations around town and often asks to "see it again" after we pass by really good ones.
--S loves her Excersaucer.
--B looked at a gift Sadie received and said, "Oh my goodness! Look how cute!" She no longer says "coot"--she says cute. Now I'll say, "Oh my" then she says, "goodness!" then I say, "Look how" then she says, "cute!!!"
--B has started to tell me that I look "bootiful" and "pitty."
--Sadie is a rolling machine, but she fusses when she's stuck on her belly.
--B has become very picky about what she eats and will even take a few bites of something and appear to like it then she'll say, "Betsy no like it! Take it away!" Charming, I know.
--B will say, "tummy hurts" or "lip hurts" or whatever then say, "Mommy hit Betsy tummy." Lovely!
--B pretends like she's pumping with the suction cups on her bath toy bag and with one of her Play Doh toys.
--Whenever I say, "Oooh, Sadie's on her tummy" B will lie on the floor and say, "Betsy on da tummy."
--B has been nursing some of her stuffed animals.
