Spring Ballet Open House

Betsy did such a great job at the Open House. She performed all of her dances, and she still found time to smile and wave at Marme, Katie, and me. We were so proud of our girl! Afterwards she said that she thought we should go to PJ's so we did. Daddy and Sadie were at READ class so they missed out, but I took plenty of pictures for them.

Tuesday Night

Adventures in the Neighborhood

Check out the cousins:

First Hansen's of the Season

Sadie isn't much of a sweets girl. She was more interested in the Mardi Gras bead she insisted on wearing. My B LOVES sweets and slurped up her snowball in record time.

The Sickie Patrol

I'm so ready for the Bourgeois crew to be well. Sadie has literally had 6 ear infections in 5 months. She had an appointment with an ENT today, and she is getting tubes and having her adenoids removed on May 14. My poor baby has taken every antibiotic (the super strong ones give her tummy trouble), but her little ears still cause her problems. She didn't do so well on her hearing test, but her ENT thinks the tubes will make that all better. I'm ready for our baby to have some relief. Baby--I mean big girl. She corrected me today when I called her my baby ("No, I big girl."). Betsy had 103.3 fever last week and bronchitis. Peter woke up throwing up today. And Momma has a bad cough and a sinus/cold thing. Help us, Lord!

On Friday Gumbo and Bee took B, Say, and Lawson to dinner at Charlie's Seafood. They are soooo brave! The girls were supposedly good. Peter and I got to sneak in a quick date. On Saturday we had planned to go to French Quarter Fest, but after ballet and READ class P, Say, and I were wiped out. We all took a nap...except for B. She kept waking me up and saying, "I thought we were doin' somethin'." We finally rallied then took a walk in the neighborhood. Spring and fall in the neighborhood is so awesome--I love walking everywhere. We walked to Slice for lunch then to the Zoo then we sat outside at PJ's and had coffee and a snack. While we were at PJ's, the Carvilles were sitting outside at Whole Foods. We met up and the girls went nuts. They shrieked, ran around, and hugged each other. Yesterday Marme, the sisters, and Lawson (shhhh, don't tell my girls) celebrated Marme's birthday with lunch and shopping. This morning was pure Monday morning chaos--sick Peter + the regular morning insanity + having to leave early for Sadie's ENT appointment = yikes!

Tonight Sadie cried in her bed for a really long time so I went in there and got her and rocked her. I told her that she had to go to bed and she pointed to my chest and said, "No, I sleep right dere on Mommy" and then gave me a huge smile. She is so adorable. She was such a big girl today, and didn't make a peep even in a new place with a new doctor. While we were waiting she would smile at me then say, "Hug!" then hug me. She is starting to try to be sassy, but she ends up giving up and being sweet.

Betsy is acting so grown up lately. And she is saying precious things. Last night Betsy said, "Mommy, you make me so comfy. And Daddy does too. I love you. You are the best." Then she kissed my hand. It was so sweet and made my eyes well up with tears.

Last week Sadie got her first haircut--adorable--and we got our first Hansen's of the season.

Pics later!

Happy Easter and Happy Birthday, Marme!

On Saturday night Betsy was playing after her bath and we told her that the Easter Bunny was coming soon. She freaked! She started running up the stairs. I asked her if she wanted to help me get a carrot and some water for the Easter Bunny, and she said, "NOOOO!!! I've got to go to bed! Is he coming NOW???" She was more terrified than excited. She refused a story before bed and seemed irritated that Sadie insisted on a story. On Easter Sadie was still under the weather. Betsy and I made it to the Carvilles for breakfast. It was so sweet of the Carvilles to host (we were supposed to) Easter breakfast with a 2 year old and a less than 2 week old. Thanks, guys! We had a delicious breakfast and Betsy and Lawson were so excited about all of their Easter treats. Penny was so sweet and precious. We celebrated Marme's birthday too! Betsy couldn't wait to tell her Marme happy birthday!

Peter and Betsy went to Vacherie for the afternoon. Sadie really missed them. She asked all day, "Where Betty?" When they got home she heard Betsy upstairs and screamed, "BETTY!!!!!!!!!! BETTY!!!!!!!!! YAY!" and put her fists in the air and jumped.

Crawfish Boil and Easter Egg Hunt

On Saturday my poor little Sadie woke up with a fever. We brought her to see Dr. Licciardi and she had ANOTHER ear infection. We have an appointment with an ENT on Monday. I am so ready for these ear infections to stop or at least slack up a bit. In 5 months Sadie has had 6 ear infections. Hopefully we'll get some relief for our baby soon. I keep calling her a baby and she'll be 2 next month. When B was Sadie's age she was my big girl! I guess Sadie will always be my baby. I had a rough weekend of sniffling, sneezing, and coughing because I had to abstain from antihisthamines due to allergy testing I had done yesterday. I was a mess all weekend and couldn't sleep. I got a shot yesterday and I have 2 prescriptions and I'm starting immunotherapy again next week. So, hopefully I will be able to breathe soon! Sadie and I were sniffling pals. She stayed in my lap all day on Saturday while Peter and B attended a crawfish boil at Gumbo's. She even slept on me, which she hasn't done in ages.

Sadie's arms were outstretched to me like this all weekend.

Betsy went to a birthday party at our next door neighbor's house before the crawfish boil. She refused to take off the costume before the boil.
