Oak Alley

We met Momma Lady, Grandpa, B, and the Nichols family at the Oak Alley Arts and Crafts Festival. The weather was perfect and the girls had so much fun with their cousins. There was a petting zoo and pony rides. B loved holding the little chicks. P put a chick in front of Sadie and she grabbed it by the wing and threw it. Oops. This was 2 weeks ago, and B still brings it up all of the time--"Momma, Sadie took dat baby chicken and frowed it. That was not nice." B and Charlie had their faces painted. B is all about the face painting. It was such a great day.

Spending Time with Sadie

B spent the night with Momma Lady and Grandpa recently so P and I got to spend some quality time with Sadie. We went to dinner at Kyoto. Sadie was loving the chopsticks, and not really into eating anything. The next day we went to Sarah's birthday party at Creole Creamery. We had so much fun!

When I took out the camera Sadie rolled her eyes and I caught it!

Big Girl Play Date

Betsy invited two friends from St. Charles Presbyterian, Molly and Olivia, over to play. This was her first big girl play date--the girls' moms dropped them off. They were so cute, and it was cool to watch B play with her friends. She was all about the potty while they were here, because they are both potty trained. After they left she kept saying, "Mommy, I'm potty trained." I said, "um...." The girls played with babies (at one point Betsy and Molly were shouting "we have to protect the babies!" and put them in the "castle"--which was Betsy's playhouse turned on its side), decorated Halloween cookies, and ate pizza. Sadie loved being around the big girls, and she played with them the whole time. B seemed so grown up with her friends here, and they had a great time.

Pumpkin Patch

We visited the Pumpkin Patch in Broadmoor, and the girls got a kick out of it. Here are the Bourgeoises picking out pumpkins.

Ribs

As most of you know, I am a vegetarian. Well, Peter is a big meat eater and the girls are certainly following in their father's footsteps. They love meat--especially ribs. Sadie ate her first rib recently and was very into it. Yikes.

Hoe Down

There was a Little Hearts Hoe Down at ASH a couple of weeks ago and B was so excited about it. There was music and square dancing. Unfortunately it was too wet for the ponies to come, but B made up for that at the Oak Alley Crafts Festival. I am an ASH fanatic; it's official. I just love it. I can't wait for Sadie to start in the Fall. Yes, we will have to give up water and electricity in order to afford it, but it's worth it! :)

The last few pics were taken at PJs. We usually go there on Friday afternoons. I'll let B decide between going to the park or to PJs and she always picks PJs.

Our little cowgirl and her baby sis:

Ice Cream Cones

This was Sadie's first time eating an ice cream cone. At first she didn't realize she could eat the cone, but as soon as she did she was very excited.

Early Morning Sisterly Love

When the girls wake up in the morning they tend to hug--a lot. They are both stumbly with eyes half-open, but they like to spend a few minutes hugging before breakfast.

Roundup

Well, we're still the sickies over here. Does it ever end? I'm on antibiotics and missed 2 days of work due to a nasty throat infection, and my Sadie has a double ear infection. Both girls have runny noses and coughs. I guess this is what life is like when they are both in school. Yikes!

The weather has been wonderful lately, and we have really been enjoying it--Oak Alley Craft Fair, birthday parties, Ghosts in the Oaks, hitting the parks, and the First Annual Magazine Street Blues Festival.

I am loving ASH. Betsy loves it too. P and B had their first father-daughter breakfast on Saturday and they had a blast. I am more impressed every time I go over there and see what they are doing. B is learning the cutest Halloween/ Autumn songs and talks a lot about Jesus and Mary. Sadie has been saying "Dowa" constantly this weekend. I haven't been able to figure it out, but I think she is saying "that one" because she's always pointing to something when she says it. Both of the girls talk and talk and talk. Betsy is doing the toddler "Why?" thing and the other day she asked me, "Why do I always say why?" Good question.

Awesome news--Baby Sister Katie is engaged to Peter A! Woo hoo!!!! So excited for them! And Attie and Beau find out the sex of Baby C on Tuesday. I can't handle all of this excitement!

More pics and tales of our many adventures to come!

PS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SAINTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This Weekend

My Day with Say

I was off last Thursday and Sadie and I spent the day together. First, we brought B to the Book Fair at school. Then we went to Gumbo's office for Sadie's first visit. She has 4 teeth with 1 on the way. My girls are slow to get teeth. Next Sadie and I went to Lakeside to do some shopping and have lunch. She grinned after each bite of her Chicken McNuggets Happy Meal. It was so nice to spend time with my baby girl. On the weekends while Sadie naps I try to do things with B, but I rarely get to spend time with Sadie alone. We had a wonderful day. It was the first time that I really, really missed being home with her.
