The Beach--Day 2

I told Betsy that she could choose whichever cereal she wanted for our beach vacation. Before I even got my question out she screamed "COCO PUFFS!" I don't know if she has had them before, but in the weeks leading up to the trip that was all she could talk about when we mentioned our trip. Sadie wanted sugar doughnuts.

The Beach

We spent 7 incredible days in Destin. The girls had an absolute blast. The Carvilles stayed with us for a few days and it was so much fun to see the little girls together. The girls turned golden brown while Peter and I burned in odd spots and the rest of us stayed pretty white. Peter brought us picnic lunches to the beach and P and I would have cocktails in the evening and watch the girls swim. B went from terrified of the Gulf (and the big pool) at the beginning of the week to loving both at the end of the week--as long as we were holding her very tightly. We didn't see any oil, but we did see a baby shark extremely close to shore--like mid-calf deep. We saw a bunch of dolphins in the middle of the day, which was kind of odd. Sadie missed her nap most days, but she crashed early. My girls had so much energy! We took one day off from the beach and went to breakfast and to Target then watched movies. By 4:00 we were out to the beach/pool. It was a perfect trip and I truly cherished spending so much time with my family.
