Sickies

I haven't been blogging this week because Peter and the girls have had a stomach bug. Although I didn't get sick I am wiped out because of it. Everyone is better. Yay!

Mardi Gras 2010 (So Far)

Last weekend we went to parades on Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday. We also went to a parade last night. The weather is awful tonight so the parades were cancelled. Sadie likes the ladder, but B would rather sit in the double stroller. I'm hoping she warms up to the ladder so we don't have to keep our eyes in two different places. We have a big weekend coming up--4 parades tomorrow night, ASH picnic on Saturday, Hal coming to visit, Lawson's party on Sunday followed by hanging with the Vaici and catching Bacchus, Orpheus on Monday, and then Mardi Gras on Tuesday. Wow--I guess I should get to sleep.

WHO DAT!!!

Here are some pics from the NFC Championship Game and from the Super Bowl. The Carvilles hosted both parties--merci, Carveys! Attie made adorable tutus for the girls--thanks, sista!

Party Pics

Here are some pics of the girls before Julia M's bday party. They wore their precious OE princess dresses. The party was so much fun. Happy Birthday, Jule!

NYC

Our NYC trip was awesome. I love getting away with Marme and the sisters for a few days and shopping, walking, eating, and talking. We saw Katie's necklace in two huge Anthropologies. Yay!!! We had delicious meals at Blue Water Grill, Jane, Pipa, and Bergdorf's. We also watched the Saints-Cardinals game at Blondie's with Allison. We cheered like maniacs and had a blast. We got to watch the Golden Globes together. Usually we watch it separately, and talk on the phone during it. We had another perfect trip. Thanks to the boys for taking care of the girls!

Bless You Boys

I am truly overjoyed about the Saints winning the Super Bowl. It just means so much more to this city. It's been said over and over in the past few days, but that's because it is so true. On the way to work this week I have been listening to WWL and crying. Callers for days have been expressing how much the win means to them. It brings me back to the days following Katrina when I would listen to WWL and cry while hearing about all of the horrors taking place in New Orleans. I felt so hopeless, and so did everyone else. This win and this entire season has given people hope. People are nice to each other--everyone has a smile and a "who dat" for everyone else. I attended the parade on Tuesday night and there was a sense of comraderie in the crowd that I have never experienced in my 35 years in New Orleans. It was incredible. Since Katrina there's been so much negativity and sadness in the city. If someone had told me right after Katrina that the Saints would win the Super Bowl and our community would come together, I never would have believed it. It's true. Bless you Boys.

Who Dat!

Can I blame the frenzy surrounding the Saints in the Superbowl for my lack of posts lately? Lots has been going on--P was out of town for a week in Lake Charles for a trial (ouch) and both girls were sick while he was gone, joined JCC and working out has made me exhausted at night, and well, the Saints are in the Superbowl!

I have lots of pics to post, but I need to upload them first. I have some cute pics of the 3 girls from the Saints playoff game at Attie's, and from last Saturday when we went to Mardi Gras World to see the Bacchus floats. I also have pics from NYC.

Sadie is talking up a storm. I got to spend lots of one on one time with her while she was sick, and I think our constant chatting may have inspired her...or maybe she was just ready to talk. She says, "Where betsy (with arms raised)?" and "Where MY daddy?" She wants to scoot downstairs on her booty and says, "Scoot, boot." When she wants to do ring-a-round the rosey she says "Attie," because her Aunt Attie is always up for a round of ring-a-round the rosey. S wants to change her babies diapers because they are "peweeee." She talks about being "big girl" and wants "big girl cup." She is fighting B back when B is rough with her, and it's rocking B's world.

Big news for our B-----------she is potty trained! It's been a long, stressful road, but she has been in panties for a week and a half. It was just how everyone said it would happen. The Sunday before last B said, "I don't want to wear Pull-Ups anymore." She hasn't worn them, and she's only had one accident. P gave B a peanut butter and Nutella sandwich a couple of weeks ago. She told him yesterday, "Daddy, tomorrow is Nutella day." She is really funny lately. She is very into Dr. Seuss and she told me that she wouldn't ever let the Cat in the Hat in the house when I wasn't home "even if he tries really hard."

Mardi Gras is right around the corner! These are happy, exciting days in NOLA!!!
