For the Love of Nutella

My girls love Nutella. I mean they really love Nutella. And I am a huge Nutella fan so I am psyched that my girls love it too. What's not to love? I know that it isn't the best thing on earth for them to eat, but it is made with nuts and skim milk, right? With just a tiny bit of cocoa. I usually reserve it for special occasions. We ate bunches of it at the beach and before the beach and after the beach...Here are some pre-beach Nutella pics.

Beachin' It

We arrived in Destin on Saturday and we are staying until next Saturday. This is our longest family vacation ever and the longest I have spent at the beach since I was little. We are having an amazing time. The Carvilles spent Saturday through Monday with us. The little girls had so much fun together and Penny was full of smiles. While the Carvilles were here we took breaks from the beach for lunch, naps, etc. Since they left yesterday we have been wild and crazy all day beach goers. We have eaten picnics at the beach instead of going to the condo for lunch and we have spent the late afternoon at the pool. Today we spent a marathon day--930 until 5. We must have reapplied sunscreen 1000 times. The girls had so much energy. Sadie was out at 6 and P was out by 8. B was surprisingly up until 9. And here I am wide awake! We are having so much fun and we still have 3 days left! Yay! Pics later.

HOT Sunday

On Sunday we went to LC's precious third birthday party at the City Park Carousel. They served the most delicious, homemade cupcakes. We stayed for a while after and rode some rides. It was so.so.so.hot.

Market Day

On Saturday we decided to hit the Farmer's Market and the Arts Market despite the stifling heat. My girls were so hot, but they were happy after having popsicles and their own baguette.

Out and About

I had so much fun being home with my girls last week. They were so darn cute. By Wednesday we had to get out of the house. We met B's friend Bella and her Mom at Posh Paint Pub. B painted a little horse and S painted a Minnie Mouse Christmas ornament. They had a blast.

On Thursday we went to Katie's new house. They are all moved in, and their house looks amazing. The girls ran around and acted wild the whole time.

This is the girls' latest thing. One of the girls will say to each other or to me, "Hold my face" then after their face is held they say, "Now pat my back." Then they say, "I'm Penny!" When Attie burps Penny she holds her face and pats her back. Before bed I have to hold their faces and pat their backs. It is pretty freakin' cute.

Beds

OK, we have a bed dilemma. Betsy stayed in her crib until right before her third birthday. She was perfectly happy in her crib so we kept her there. She transitioned into a toddler bed where she remained for about 9 months. She started complaining that her bed was too small and wasn't comfy so we bought her a twin bed this summer. She liked it although she still said she'd rather a big bed like ours. Soon little sister started wanting to sleep in the bed with her. At first it was hit or miss. They would either both crash or giggle uncontrollably or fight. Several times Peter had to put Sadie back in her crib. Lately, though, it has been working out well except for when we have to beg Betsy to let Sadie sleep with her because she wasn't feelin' it. I think Sadie is over her crib, but I know that if we put her in a toddler bed she would escape. So, last night we switched the full bed from the guest room with the twin bed. They were super psyched--Betsy said it was "super awesome and cooool!" She is a total tween. The only problem is that they stayed up until after 11:00. When I went to bed at 11 I still heard them talking. B told P that Sadie "talks and talks and talks." This is absolutely true. Today Sadie successfully napped in the big bed. They are hopefully sleeping right now, but I don't want to check and wake them up.

Soooo we are trying to figure out whether to buy Sadie her own twin bed or whether to let them sleep in a full bed together for a few years. Right now they are sleeping on a mattress set with a frame and don't have a proper headboard/footboard. Attie and I slept in a full bed together for about 4 years, and we loved it. This week is a test. If they are both happy then we may stay with the full bed for a while. That means we need to get rid of the crib. Sniff, sniff. Not sure I'm ready for that.
