St. Francisville

We spent Friday night and Saturday in St. Francisville with the Carvilles. We stayed at a B&B, and we had such a wonderful time. The best part was that it snowed!!! It started snowing about an hour after we arrived, and it continued to snow through the night. When we woke up yesterday the ground was covered in snow; it was so beautiful. The girls spent lots of quality time, and we saw ducks, a family of deer, and a peacock on the grounds of the B&B. Betsy loved the snow. She asked me yesterday, "What we got to do to make it snow again, Momma?" She has seen snow twice in Louisiana, and so she thinks it happens every year. In my lifetime it has only snowed a handful of times in NOLA; Betsy doesn't realize what a rare treat snow is! Yesterday we went to the St. Francisville Christmas Festival then we walked around the town. It was freezing, but we bundled the girls up. On the way out of town we stopped at The Chimes for lunch (I hadn't been there in years and it was one of my favorite places while I was in law school) and Highland Coffees (I studied there almost every day in law school, and I wanted the girls to see it). Getting out of town for just twenty-four hours was a nice break. It was a perfect trip.

Pics to follow.
