Roundup

I have literally been working on a blog post for 1.5 hours. I have been typing and typing. Peter has been asking what I'm doing. It is gone. It was automatically saving and I manually saved it several times. I got to the end and pressed publish and it told me to sign in. I couldn't go back. I am so frustrated, and I'm about to cry. I had a bunch of little notes to remind me what we have been up to, and I just erased them all. I hate Blogger. It's 11:30 and I was about to go to bed. I was so proud of myself for blogging about the girls' latest funny moments, and our wonderful Easter. I am so mad. Well, here goes...

Happy Easter everyone!

Sadie is 11 months old. She gets prettier and smarter everyday. She has lots of new tricks. She says "ta daaaaaaaaaa," "nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnno," and "mine." She learned all of these from her big sister. She loves to copy everything B does. S loves to eat and squeals when I pull out her snack trap full of baby goldfish or cheerios. S crawls up to me, climbs up my legs till she's standing then lifts her arms up for me to pick her up. I have started to wean Sadie, and it's going OK. She loves water, but she does not like milk or formula. I have cut out her after lunch feeding so I'm trying to get her to drink something besides water after lunch, but she is not having any of it. B is a milk fiend so S is bound to start liking it soon.

B has been saying all sorts of funny things. She told Grandpa the other day, "you got a clock on your brayfit (bracelet)"--she was referring to his watch. When I told her to share a toy with B the other day she said, "Don't worry about Sadie, Mommy"--which is what I tell her when she incessantly tattles on Sadie. B loves to talk, sing, and/or dance all of the time. If I ask her to keep it down she'll say, "I'm singing!" or "I'm talking!" B uses her imagination so much; she constantly tells me that "we have to hurry" because we are being chased by something or we are late for something. She gave everyone at the breakfast table this morning an imaginary piece of candy. She gives me imaginary food all of the time then says, "you like it, Mommy? It's good?"

Last weekend B went to dinner at Gumbo's house. She ate cheese toastites and visited the ducks Gumbo released at the park near his house. On Saturday morning I had a much needed massage. I met the sisters and babies at Marme's for a birthday breakfast. The girls were glad to be able to play with their Marme! Marme is starting to feel better--I am so happy! Then the girls and I picked Scarlet up from her hotel then went to the house and vegged while the girls napped. It was so nice to just hang out and talk and not really do anything. That night Scarlet, Julie, and I went to Iris for dinner--the food was fabulous and we had an amazing time. The new restaurant looks great; I'm so excited for Laurie! After dinner we went to Pat O's because Scarlet had never been there before. We had a great time and there was really good people watching. The next morning the girls and I went to La Boulangerie with Scar, Jules, and baby James for breakfast. Then Scarlet left. We had such a nice visit, and we miss her already. On Sunday afternoon B and I went to Remy F's 4th birthday party at Lucky You. B was the youngest kid there, but she held her own while making cotton candy and hitting the pinata.

On Monday we went to B's Easter Egg Hunt at school. B had fun running around with her friends, and Sadie played in the grass with the other little brothers and sisters. After the hunt we went to Daneel Park with Molly, Dawn, and baby Adam. When we got home Gumbo met us and took us to Haase's to pick out the girls' Easter shoes. The shoes are precious--thanks, Gumbo! B woke up in the middle of the night Monday with a fever and runny nose. She was finally better for 3 or so whole days! We stayed in on Tuesday, and luckily she was well by Wednesday. She did miss Tuesday dinner at Jama's though and she wasn't too happy about it. On Wednesday Attie, Lawsy, Sadie, and I went for a walk in the Park then to PJ's. The girls go crazy when they see their PJ's muffin--they screech and wave their arms. On Wednesday afternoon we went to the Zoo with Attie and Lawson; we are taking advantage of hitting the Zoo as much as possible before it gets unbearably hot. On Thursday we walked to PJ's again with Attie and Lawsy then B played at Katie's for a bit. On Thursday afternoon we went to playgroup at Jane's. The kids hunted for Easter eggs and B played monsters with the boys because two of the girls weren't there. She really liked the drama involved and ran around squealing. I am so happy I have my playgroup. B is so close with her playgroup pals, and Sadie has inherited a bunch of friends her age (and we have one more coming this week and another in August--then our playgroup will have a whopping 14 kids in it!). On Thursday night we went to Rocky's for dinner then to Creole Creamery for ice cream. The girls were good, and B loved her ice cream cone. She had never had one before, and she didn't quite get that she could eat the cone. When I told her to take a bite of it she looked at me funny. She finally took a bite of the top then smiled and bit off the bottom of the cone! Oops!

On Friday Grandpa came in town to help P build a wall in the garage. We are creating a utility room in the garage--yay! Grandpa also came in town earlier in the week to help P resod the backyard--thanks a bunch, Grandpa! On Friday night the Carvilles had us over for dinner and egg dyeing. Gumbo and Bee were the dyeing champs and taught us lots of tricks. On Saturday we went to the annual Babin Easter Crawfish Boil at Gumbo's. The kids had a blast hunting for chocolate eggs, eating crawfish (B even sucked a few heads!), and playing together.

We had a wonderful Easter. The girls were very excited about everything the Easter Bunny brought them. The Carvilles had a lovely breakfast at their house--lots of yummy food, great gifts, and a crazy Easter egg hunt for the Babin sisters. After breakfast we went to Momma Lady and Grandpa's house--yummy food, great gifts, egg dyeing, and a visit from the Easter Bunny. B loved him and held his hand, hugged him, and sat in his lap. She told me that he was "not scary" then said, "I don't like da Easta Bunny at da Mall. I don't want to sit in his lap."

I am now really tired and full of candy. I'm going to post a few pics from last week then I'll upload Easter pics tomorrow.

Good night!
