Peter and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary last Friday. We spent a wonderful weekend playing tourist in the Quarter. Gumbo and Bee treated us to a weekend at Windsor Court and Momma Lady and Grandpa watched the girls. Thanks, everyone! Peter planned an awesome weekend without my input at all. We went to dinner at Stella!, watched the running of the bulls, breakfast at Stanley, walked around the Quarter, had lunch at Maspero's of course, went to the Carousel Bar and Iris with Mike and Missy, and finally had breakfast in bed on Sunday. It was so relaxing--we also took a couple of naps. Thanks for planning such a special weekend, Peter. I love you.
We've been really busy with B out of camp--started yoga last week, went swimming with playgroup, played with Lawsy, and did lots of playing downstairs. This week she is back at Camp. Sadie and I went to Music on Monday then met up with Evelyn and Ticia (Congrats to Ticia on the birth of her baby girl today!) and their kiddos at Munholland Playground. Today we met playgroup at the Parenting Center. The weather was so scary this afternoon and our power was out so we had to wake Sadie up from her nap so we could head to the PC to get some A/C!
Sadie is a walking maniac. She is over crawling. We're excited, but also a little scared! Sadie is also talking a lot (hat, book, ball, Betsy) and singing a lot (Twinkle Twinkle, Ariel, etc.). She repeats everything and copies everything that B does. She is also holding her own now when she and B fight over toys. She'll scream and wave her arms around when she doesn't get her way. She is giving kisses now too. She still has her one tooth but she has 3 more starting to come in so she is a droolin' machine.
B is saying the funniest things. I asked her why she did something today and she said, "Because I'm crazy!" When I ask B to sit so I can put her sandals on she said, "Princesses don't sit to put on shoes, they step into them" The other day B said, "My tears are made of water, but you can't drink them because you can't reach my face." B was terrified of the thunder today, and I admit it was really loud and pretty scary. She had one arm around me while she ate her lunch. A little while later it settled down, but it was still thundering, and she nudged me with the back of her hand then said, "Ya heard dat?" I said, "Yeah." She said, "Dat's thunda." She comes up with the craziest things.
Pics later. I promise.
