Happy Belated Birthday to Pa and Craig and Happy 4th of July! Betsy has been out of camp for a week so I have had my hands full. B seems to be done with taking naps, which is not fun for me. Sadie is starting to take one really long (3 hours or more) nap a day instead of 2 naps a day. I guess if B just has some quiet time with books or a movie then she is getting some sort of rest.
Last week I spent lots of quality time with the girls; we stayed home for a whole day due to a dead car battery when we were supposed to meet the Saunders crew at the mall (B's favorite place). I pulled out B's last birthday present from last year (I had saved some for rainy (or dead car battery) days). We had to make up for missing the mall so I took the girls by myself the next day. I brought the tandem double stroller, which I don't really use that often. It is really nice to have it for the mall because it's narrow and I can keep B contained.
On Thursday we met Momma Lady for breakfast, and B went home with her. They did lots of fun things--movie, water playground in Gonzales, and dinner at the Nichols' house. M.L. and Grandpa brought B back the next day and they all went to lunch at to the Aquarium. Peter and I had a day date--lunch at Sake Cafe, saw 'The Hangover'--hilarious, and did some shopping. M.L. and Grandpa stayed for dinner and Peter made tacos. We went to the Carvilles for the 4th of July. Everyone brought delicious food, and the Carvilles did a great job of both cooking and decorating--look out, Martha! The girls had so much fun together as usual. Yesterday I decided to spend some time with just Betsy. After Sadie went down for her nap we went to Toys R Us to look at the tricycles for B's upcoming birthday. Then we went to have ice cream. I rarely get to spend time with Betsy, and we had a great time. Late in the afternoon Peter made an awesome meal while the girls and I swam in their pool. Yes, I got in the tiny baby pool with them. Betsy thought it was the coolest thing ever.
Today we went to the PC for music, but it was cancelled. I let the girls play for a while, but since none of my friends were there I was ready to go after an hour. When we left B said "Where are da friends?" Tonight Bee and Gumbo stopped by and the girls modeled some adorable spring OE clothes.
Sadie tricks--grabbing a purse and saying bye bye (I was looking at B's old blog and she was doing the exact thing at Sadie's age), starting to walk more and more, climbing up onto the chair in her room and saying "uh uh!" when she wants to climb on other furniture that she can't quite reach, pushing the dining room chairs all around, brushing her hair, starting to have temper tantrums--lying on the ground kicking and screaming, and pointing to her nose and saying "nooo" for nose.
I'm going to try to post some pics then go to bed. Good night!
